Our board members have collaborated on a wide spectrum of matters including: M&A, accounting and finance, human resources, crisis management, technology deployment, legal and compliance issues, and much more.
James L. Paterek, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Jim has been the founder, chairman and CEO of both private and public human capital, outsourcing, consulting and technology companies with annual gross sales approaching $1 billion. Several companies that Jim has founded have been recognized as the fastest growing companies in America by Inc. Magazine and Staffing Industry Report. In addition to his 35 years as an executive and leader of service-based businesses, Jim has extensive experience in acquiring, financing and integrating businesses, having completed more than twenty-eight acquisitions and raised over $670 million for investment in those companies. During Jim’s career he has held secret clearance from the department of defense and clearance from the department of energy. Jim has served on both private and public boards of directors.
Michael Madden, Vice Chairman
Mike is the Managing Partner and co-founder of BlackEagle. Michael has extensive experience in the investment community serving as senior partner at Questor Management Company where he was responsible for some of the firm’s most successful investments. With more than 30 years of advisory experience, Michael served as a partner at Beacon Group Holdings (acquired by JPMorgan Chase), vice chairman and member of the board of directors at PaineWebber (later UBS), executive managing director at Kidder, Peabody, & Co. responsible for all investment banking and capital market activities worldwide, and co-head of worldwide investment banking at Lehman Brothers. Michael holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from LeMoyne College. He is active with his alma mater serving as chair of the LeMoyne College Board of Trustees from 1999-2003 and was honored in the naming of the Madden School of Business at LeMoyne College.
Christopher P. Franco
Chris previously worked with Jim and Mike as a co-founder and as the CEO of Comforce, as well as many of the portfolio companies that the leadership team acquired and grew. Chris is the founding partner of Horseneck Capital Advisors LLC, and has thirty years of CEO-level corporate finance, financial advisory and operating experience. He specializes in advising leading investment firms and corporations with business and financial opportunities, with a focus on the Middle East. At HCA, Chris has assisted clients with transactions valued at over $3 billion, and has also been active in partnering with clients to develop investment opportunities in the Real Estate sector. Previously Chris worked as a corporate lawyer, and he is a graduate of the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business and the SMU School of Law. Chris served on the Board of Advisors of Georgetown’s McDonough School, and has also served on the boards of several public and private corporations. Chris has also served on the fiduciary or advisory boards of several non-profit corporations, including the Greenwich Point Conservancy and the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT.
Ridgway Barker, Esq.
Ridge is a partner at Withersworldwide, a 100 year-old international law firm with over 1000 personnel. Ridge focuses on corporate finance and securities law, advising on capital market matters, corporate governance, M&A, asset securitizations, debt financing, and venture capital transactions, among other areas. Ridge acts as the trusted advisor for small to medium-sized public and private companies across a whole range of their legal needs. In addition to routine legal matters, Ridge regularly represents clients on matters relating to public, private and semi-public equity and debt financing mechanisms; and domestic and international, both public and private. Ridge holds a B.A. degree from Yale University and a J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law.
Richard Barber, CPA
Rick is the managing partner of L.H. Frishkoff, a 90 year old accounting firm providing audit, tax and advisory services for clients throughout the United States. Rick is a Certified Public Accountant with 30 years of experience in a wide range of industries including, human capital, staffing, consulting, outsourcing, automotive manufacturing, technology, real estate, art dealerships and galleries, entertainment, import/export and other international entities. Rick provides advanced expertise in accounting and tax issues, both domestic and international, to clients and client companies. Rick’s clients range from start up situations to established multi-national firms with revenues and assets over a billion dollars. Rick has sat on many private and public company boards. Additional, he has served on the Comforce board with the leadership team as well as worked with the team in all their ventures for over 27 years.
